get some light sandpaper,
i had a ipod 30gb and it came off in 20 minutes\
no rough stuff, make sure its fine sandpaper
Scratching it May Damage the Ipod, I think the only way you can conceal it is to keep a sticker there. The Engraving is done by Laser, so Scratching will just leave marks
