OK, first of all, why don't you want an American built car? Assuming you live in the U.S., shouldn't you be supporting the American economy, not tearing it down by buying a foreign car? People keep buying all these junky foreign cars and thousands of Americans are losing their jobs because of this. One piece of advice: BUY AMERICAN!!!!!!

On another note, Ford is offering some great lease deals on super-attractive cars.

$189/month for a Ford Fusion

$169/month for a Ford Focus

These both are great cars, incredibly reliable, and incredibly good on gas. Check out these reviews:

Hope this helps. Not trying to be rude or anything, just trying to help the American economy!!
I have had two Nissan's. One was driven until 238,000 miles when I gave it away. The one I currently drive is a 2002 I got it used in 2006 and have yet to do anything except reg. maintenance. I had a 1991Honda and sold it to my dad he still drives it. I had an 1991 Acura Legend in 2004 as my first car and the only reason I got rid of it was because I got in an accident. I had a Dodge Intrepid and hated it. My mom had a Ford Tempo and it always caught on fire she had a Ford Probe and it had electrical problems. Why should you buy American just to boost the economy if they are taking your money and giving you crap that will depreciate faster than a neighborhood with a crack house? Puh-lease. And they make parts of the foreign cars here. And you know parts of the American cars are made elsewhere.
